Nightlife in Bangkok

The vibrant, exciting nightlife in Bangkok, Thailand can hold its own with some of the biggest and most dynamic cities of the world: New York City, Miami, Las Vegas, and Ibiza. The legendary collection of restaurants, bars, and clubs in Bangkok means that there is always something new to see and discover in the city, and absolutely no excuse for a boring night in. Whether you are there for just a short visit, enjoying an extended vacation, or planning to become the city’s newest resident, you will find that there are plenty of things to do at night in Bangkok – the challenge isn’t finding exciting nightlife experiences, it’s figuring out how to narrow down the list.

One of the best things about Thailand is the ever-changing landscape of the nightlife and places to visit. 2020 may have gotten off to a rocky start but there is so much to see and do when the travel bans are lifted.

If you’re looking for an upscale place to enjoy a smoke, the barber-inspired smoking lounge has an unbeatable vibe.

Saxophone Pub

(3/8 Phayathai Road Victory Monument)

If your taste leans more towards jazz music rather than the electronic buzz of EDM, then the Saxophone Pub is sure to be right up your alley. This cozy joint plays host to a different jazz band every night and is a favorite among ex-pats for its delicious food and great service. Journey up to the mezzanine level with your drink for a complete view of the stage.

Sky Bar Rooftop at Lebua

(Lebua at State Tower 63rd Floor, 1055 Silom Road, Bangrak, Bangkok, 10500)

This rooftop bar might look familiar if you’ve seen the second installment of the Hangover film series, stacked an impressive 63 floors above the glittering city below. With a creative list of original cocktails as well as a well-rounded beer and wine selection, the Sky Bar has a drink for every preference. You will be able to enjoy the incredible city views, sip on a well-crafted cocktail, and mingle with residents and visitors alike.

Above Eleven

(Fraser Suites Sukhumvit 33rd Floor, Sukhumvit Road Soi 11)

The second rooftop bar on the list, has a completely different vibe than Sky Bar. Based on the iconic Central Park in New York City, Above Eleven is decorated with sculptural light-up trees and draping green vines. You can enjoy cocktails that have been elevated to a new level of creativity, with elements like rose apple and elderflower, and the food menu certainly doesn’t disappoint either. From your relaxing seat, gaze down upon the city streets and be thankful that you aren’t stuck in the traffic below.

Demo Nightclub

(Thong Lor Soi 10)

With an edgy sense of street style and a serious party reputation, Demo Nightclub is where the young, rich, and beautiful in Bangkok go to have a good time. Inside, brick walls are covered in graffiti and doors are replaced by metal shutters, giving it an abandoned warehouse feeling that makes it all the more surprising when you see the mass of people on the dance floor. You can choose between two different rooms: a hip-hop area painted in a bright orange hue, or the main room where the latest electronica is played.

Issaya Siamese Club

(4 Soi Sri Aksorn, Chue Ploeng)

Led by a top favorite in the Bangkok culinary scene, Ian Kittichai, the Issaya Siamese Club is a restaurant contained within a restored historic mansion, making its setting nearly as impressive as the food served. With dishes like chili-glazed baby back ribs, banana blossom salad, and lamb satay with peanut sauce, the menu is packed with classic but elevated dishes that your taste buds will love.

If there’s one thing that the Bangkok nightlife isn’t, it’s dull. There is always somewhere to go, something to see, and new people to meet. The city is like a living, breathing entity that is filled with an incredible energy that stems from its vibrant people who love nothing more than to enjoy good music, excellent company, and delicious drinks and food.
