3. Red Bull was created in Bangkok the world’s favourite energy drink was created by Chaleo Yoovidhya way back in 1976. Although the drink wasn’t initially a success, it grew into a global juggernaut.

 

4. Bangkok is home to the most millionaires in the world with over 20,000 living in Thailand and 95% of them living in Bangkok. This is one of the many reasons that Bangkok has such a thriving economy and why the Bangkok skyline has some of the most amazing buildings.

 

5. Every year on Thai New Year Bangkok holds the world’s biggest street water fight. The Songkran Festival happens between April 13th to 15, and it’s also usually marked with gifts, family reunions and time of renewing. The ‘water fight’ as it were is to help wash off all of the misfortunes of the year before.

 

6. Bangkok is sometimes referred to as the Venice of the East with the same amount of canals, and they are all spread out in the same way as the canals in Venice.
